Shannon Shorr Captures His First Career Bracelet Win

Dreams do come true.

Every poker player knows that poker is full of highs and lows. For veteran tournament pro Shannon Shorr, Sunday night provided one of the highest highs of his career.

Just after 2 a.m. PT, Shorr was heads-up for the bracelet against Maxx mc4chess Coleman in the WSOP Online $2,000 NLHE 6-Max Event and just needed to win a flip to win the tournament and what would be his first gold bracelet. Thats when the following must-see moment took place:

The elated, emotional Shorr celebrated the late-night victory with his wife (who is pregnant with their soon-to-be-born second child). In the end, Shorr topped a field of 113 entries and won $89,125.78. That’s no small sum, but its clear that while the money is nice, for Shorr the title, perhaps, meant just a little bit more.

Oh my god. I have no wordsIm a bracelet winner, he said. Finally!

The bracelet win was a long time coming for Shorr who, according to WSOP.com, now has 200 combined cashes in WSOP-branded events, covering both live and online, for a combined $3.5 million in earnings dating back to 2006, when he first started playing in WSOP events.

Shorr had been close to taking home a WSOP title in the past with a pair of runner-up finishes, including a live $2K NLHE back in 2008, and numerous WSOP final tables over the years.

Its been an up-and-down year poker-wise for Shorr who is often transparent about his poker journey. Earlier this year he discussed his slow start to 2023 which turned around after he negotiated one of the largest scores of his career at the 2023 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

With the bracelet win, Shorr has taken himself off the “best without a bracelet” and turned 2023 into a career year.
