The Hendon Mob Championship, SunBet Poker Tour Heading to Southern Hemisphere
The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) is heading south. No, not south as in Florida. South as in South Africa, along with the SunBet Poker Tour for an R1,000,000 guaranteed tournament in Cape Town.
When the THMC Cape Town Million kicks off Nov. 26 it ends Nov. 28 it will be the first THMC event in Africa. The tournament, part of the SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT series, runs Nov. 22 to Dec. 3, All the poker action will take place at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World.
There are three Day 1 sessions scheduled in the THMC event one of Nov. 26 and two the following day. On Nov. 28, remaining players from the three opening flights will merge together and play down to a winner before the day ends.
Major Poker Series in Africa
The SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT has 12 events on the schedule with a total of R10.5 million guaranteed. That includes the THMC Cape Town Million, an R8,000 buy-in tournament, and a number of other juicy poker tournaments.
The biggest event of them all is the R4,000,000 Main Event, a R15,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament beginning Nov. 29. There will be four Day 1 Main Event starting flights, including two on Dec. 1, one day prior to the Day 2 session. The final table is scheduled for Dec. 3, and that will wrap up the series.
In between the start of the series and the Main Event, there are some big events, including the series opening R8,000 Welcome to CPT, which promises at least R500,000 in the pot.
