Rodrigues Goes Runner Runner
On Day 2 of the 2023 WSOP Europe Event #2: 550 Pot Limit Omaha 8-max, it was Level 20 (3,000/6,000/6,000) when reporter Ryan Lashmar saw Wiktor Weiner open to 21,000 from under the gun and Michael Rodrigues called from early position. Levan Rcheulishvili raised to 75,000 from the hijack and Weiner called for less, putting himself all in. Rodrigues also made the call.
The flop came 1074 and Rodrigues moved all in for 161,000. Rcheulishvili called with a covering stack to put Rodrigues at risk.
Wiktor Weiner: AA33Michael Rodrigues: KQ86Levan Rcheulishvili: KJ109
All three players had some equity. Weiner had an overpair, Rodrigues had a flush draw and double-gutshot straight draw and Rcheulishvili had top pair, a gutshot and a bigger flush draw. The rest of the board ran out Q6. Rodrigues had missed his flush and straight draws but had made runner runner two pair to take both the mai and side pot, eliminating Weiner in the process while taking a huge chunk out of Rcheulishvili’s stack.
Pliashko Triples Up with Royal Flush
In the same tournament, albeit on Day 3 in Level 31 (40,000/80,000/80,000), Lashamr also witnessed Martino Cito open to 175,000 from the cutoff and Ihar Pliashko called from the big blind for less, committing his entire stack of 160,000 to put himself at risk.
Ihar Pliashko: AQ86Martino Cito: A996
The flop came J103 giving Pliashko a plethora of outs over Cito’s pair of nines. The K turn improved Pliashko to a Royal flush leaving Cito drawing dead. The 8 river changed nothing and Pliashko secured slightly more than a full triple up.

Boatman Puts a Massive Cooler on Cho
On Day 2 of Event #4: 2,000 Pot Limit Omaha, it was Level 18 (5,000/10,000/10,000) when reporter David Salituro saw a board of AA56. Barny Boatman bet 25,000 from the big blind before Wooram Cho raised to 85,000 in the small blind.
Boatman called and the 7 fell on the river. Cho then led out for another 225,000.
Boatman came back with an all-in shove for 720,000 and Cho snap-called, turning over AJ64 for aces full of sixes. Boatman, though, had AQ107 for aces over sevens to earn the massive pot and a double-up that vaulted him into the tournament chip lead.
Mick Heder Done and Dusted
Later on in the same tournament in Level 21 (10,000/20,000/20,000), reporter Christian Zetzsche saw Dario Alioto raise to 40,000 and Namhyung Kim called from the next seat, table short stack Mick Heder called from the big blind as well. The trio headed to the Q84 flop on which Heder bet the pot for 150,000 with 20,000 behind.
Alioto opted to flat-call before Kim studied the stack of his table neighbour and then raised the pot. Heder called all-in and Alioto then pushed all-in. Kim wasn’t going anywhere and called to create the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Kim’s middle set was up against two flush draws and he also blocked one of the aces as well.
The 7 turn gave Heder straight outs but it was Alioto who got there with the 3 river, as he sunk back into his chair. Heder’s exit in 14th place was confirmed while Alioto doubled through Kim for 1,200,000.
Gab Yong Kim Straightened Out
With three players remaining in Event #4, it was Level 27 (40,000/80,000/80,000) when Salituro reported a big hand. It began when Hokyiu Lee raised to 240,000 in the small blind before Gab Yong Kim three-bet to 720,000.
Lee called as the flop came 98J. Kim then potted to 1,500,000, Lee moved all in, and Kim called for an additional 100,000.

Kim had flopped a straight, but Lee had the nut straight as the 6 turn and K river sent Kim to the rail in third place.
