WPT x Daniel Arsham Celebrity Invitational Features Actor Neil Patrick Harris

Doogie Howser is coming to the World Poker Tour (WPT) on Monday.

Actor Neil Patrick Harris will headline a WPT Celebrity Invitational at the Wynn Las Vegas, and it will be live-streamed on YouTube starting at 4 p.m. PT.

The 50-year-old celebrity initially became famous in the early 1990s when he played the role of Doogie Howser on the hit TV sitcom Doogie Howser, MD. In that role, he played a teenage prodigy who became a medical doctor before he was even old enough to vote.

Since then, he’s starred in numerous other roles, including the 2000s sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and played a fictional version of himself in the Harold and Kumar movie comedy series.

Poker with Neil Patrick Harris

Harris, a five-time Emmy Award-winning actor, will be joined by some other celebrities for a little poker on Monday in the WPT x Daniel Arsham Celebrity Invitational. Other celebrities who will be in the game include Patrick Bruel, Arden Cho, Eileen Davidson and Adam Weitsman.

According to a press release, the World Poker Tour and renowned American artist Daniel Arsham cap off their year-long collaboration with a televised celebrity invitational. The game will be a six-handed sit-n-go style tournament between the celebrities.

Our partnership with Daniel has brought many memorable moments throughout the year, but this may take the cake, said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. It is amazing to have Neil and other celebrity guests under the lights of a WPT TV production.

This won’t be the first time Harris has appeared in a televised or live-streamed poker game. In 2004, he competed on Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown, one of the more entertaining poker shows during the poker boom era.

Harris won his initial table on the Celebrity Poker Showdown and eventually won $20,000 for charity. The invitational will take place inside the Wynn LaTour Ballroom during Day 4 of the WPT World Championship, a $10,400 buy-in tournament with a $40 million prize pool.
