Hustler Casino Live $1 Million Buy-In Poker Game Returns in May; Polk, Keating to Headline
For the second straight year, Hustler Casino Live will host a series of $1 million buy-in games May 28-31, and a number of popular poker players have committed to play, including Doug Polk and Alan Keating.
Last year, the poker show from Hustler Casino in Los Angeles became the first U.S. live-stream to air a seven-figure minimum buy-in game. The games were headlined by prominent HCL regulars and some mainstream poker pros, and this year will be no different.
$1 Million Poker Stream Details
Similar to the original $1 million buy-in series of games, this year’s games will begin with $500/$1,000 blinds no-limit hold’em. As is often the case when it comes to a Hustler Casino Live stream, the advertised blinds are only a starting point. Expect frequent straddles and potentially increasing blinds altogether, especially considering players will start at least 1,000 blinds deep.
The super high-stakes action begins on the same day as the start of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. While some might think doing so could hurt viewership with poker players focused on the WSOP, that wasn’t the case last year. The $1 million streams in May/June 2023 had over 20,000 concurrent viewers on YouTube throughout much of the action, making them some of the most viewed poker live-streams ever.
A full list of players hasn’t been ironed out, and the dates each player will compete in will be sorted out closer to when the super high-stakes games begin. But HCL did disclose some of the players, and the list includes Polk, Keating, Tony G, Nikhil “Nik Airball” Arcot, Santhosh Suvarna, and a few other show regulars such as Charles Yu, Handz, and Brandon Steven.
Keating, who has only appeared on Hustler Casino Live once in since last year’s $1 million games, and that was for a 24-hour marathon stream in November, is a fan favorite for his loose style of play.
Will it Be Even Better This Year?
The $1 million games in 2023 brought about some intense action. In one session, Polk memorably bluffed off a $1.1 million pot to Tom Dwan, who went into the tank with a monster hand, leading some to question if it was a slow-roll or nit-roll, to which he denied.
Later in the same session, “Durrrr” won the largest pot in live-streamed poker history $3.1 million against “Wes Side” Wesley Fei, who was also bluffing.
And that begs the question, will the Dwan/Wesley pot be topped in one of the 2024 $1 million games? We’ll all just have to watch and find out come May 28.
